NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC
CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
The Intersex Persons Implementation Coordination Committee (IPICC) was established by the Hon. Attorney General vide a Gazette Notice No. 7264 of 2019 dated 16th August, 2019; with the mandate to assist the government in the implementation of the recommendations made in the Intersex Taskforce report, 2018.
Pursuant to the Constitutional requirement to engage the people in the law-making process, the Intersex Persons Implementation Coordination Committee (IPICC) through the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights, hereby invites members of the public to submit written comments on the draft Intersex Persons Bill, 2023. The objective of the Bill is ‘to provide for the recognition, protection and safeguarding of intersex persons’ human rights in Kenya; to provide for the equalization of opportunities, affirmative action and non-discrimination of intersex persons, and for connected purposes.’
The Bill can be accessed from KNCHR website submissions made in the format provided on this link (Click here to access the Bill). The comments may be submitted electronically, post or hand-delivery via the details provides below on or before 30th May, 2023.
